This is Richard Booth’s favorite quote. He believes that when you consider re-work, call-backs, and the disillusionment of unsatisfied customers; inferior craftsmanship costs the same as quality work. So, he says, do quality work first and always, and within the stated budget.

He also believes that to fulfill middle America’s housing dreams, builders and architects must mesh function and form. He maintains that every design can be:

Building for Today and Tomorrow
"In the 1980's,"; says Booth, "homes were built with a lot of space... useless, inefficient space. Wasted space is wasted money. Let's think of the homeowner's house value per square foot and give them the most home for the money."

Booth also stresses the need for builders to respond to current family trends such as children moving back home or parents moving in with their children. New housing plans must be considered that address these cultural realities.
